In 2021, Governor JB Pritzker and the General Assembly passed the Reimagining Electric Vehicles in Illinois Act (REV Illinois Act) into law. This groundbreaking program is designed to bolster Illinois manufacturing – already a top destination for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing in the United States – and to grow the ecosystem to create new capacity for EV vehicle and component parts production. Since then, a lot of progresses have been made in moving towards the bold goal, including research conducted by GSU and UIC faculty on EV supply chain.
This event will bring policy makers, private sector leaders, and other stakeholders to share progresses, discuss opportunities and challenges they are still facing in galvanizing towards this bold vision.
