    Hi,

Articles (at least) that are marked as Private are reported as broken.
Note that the “Private” is not checked, only “Published” and “Planned” are checked on the configuration page.

    Michel.

  • Hello @mdes ,

If you’re looking to check private pages/posts on your site you can enable them here at Settings->link Checker -> Look for links in -> Post statuses

    Thanks, Biplav.

I didn’t want to check the links included in private articles, but to check the links pointing to a private article.

In fact, the links pointing to articles should be considered as broken if the articles are private because that are unreachable with common users.

    Conclusion: My request is irrelevant.

    Hello,

I just reopen this thread because I am very annoyed to have too many 404.

On my web site, I usually change the status of old posts to “Private”. I also leave other posts (whose type is ai1ec_event, used in a calendar) pointing to these private posts to keep their history.

The plugin checks these links, and reports them as broken because the pointed posts are private.

Is is possible to have a link status like “do not check anymore”?

    Kind regards,
    Michel.

You can “Dismiss” those links. When you do that, they won’t be reported anymore unless their status changes.

    Hello Kasia,

This does not work for me because I redirect 404 error with a 404.php to display information to the user, and to send me an email (to detect spammer).

So because your engine checks if the link status changed, a 404 is generated because this link points to an Private article (or page), a 404 is generated. So I receive a lot of 404 because I have a lot of Private articles.

So I would like your addon to stop checking these articles/posts.

    Best regards,
    Michel.

    Hello @mdes

    I trust you’re doing well!

at the moment this is not possible I’m afraid these links can be only Dismissed in a current version. I’ve added your suggestion as a feature request, so our developers will consider adding it to the plugin.

    Have a good day!

    Kind regards,
