    Hi,

How can I get the theme to display my Posts Page? It seems like the settings are inverted on this theme. The Posts Page shows the theme home page template even though the actual Posts Page template is different. Steps completed:

    • Edited the Home template (defaulted to by theme) to look nice for my site.
    • Published 2 pages: “Home” and “Cricket News”. When I view them from the Pages tab, they appear correctly.
    • On “Cricket News” page, I added the Latest Posts query loop and it showed my published test blog post excerpt on the page.
    • Under Reading>>Your Homepage Displays, I selected “A static page” and set “Home” as Homepage and “Cricket News” as the posts page.
    • Went to Site Editor, and the Home template was now displaying as the barebones test Home page. No nicely edited template in site. Clicked on Cricket News page link in navigation menu and that instead took me to the nicely edited Home template.
    • I then noticed the theme has no Front Page template. I copied all blocks from the Home template and created a Front Page Template. When viewing the site after this, the Home page displayed correctly (nicely edited templated shows up). However, link to Cricket News yet again takes me to the Home template, rather than the Posts Page.
    • Thanks!

On the WordPress documentation, I see this: In the drop-down box, select the actual Page that you want displayed as your front page. If you do not select a choice here, then effectively your blog will show your posts on both the blog’s front page and on the Posts page you specify. If you would like to create a static home page template file, do not name it home.php, otherwise you will encounter problems when you try to view the “blog”/”posts” section of your site. To get around this, just name it anything but home.php, for example, myhome.php

I believe the static home page template file is named home.php and is causing the issue. Can this be corrected?

    Hey there,

Happy to help you with this.

How can I get the theme to display my Posts Page? It seems like the settings are inverted on this theme

By default the homepage is set to show the posts, and so if you go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings > set “Your homepage displays – Your latest posts”

In the editor, this would be the Index template. Are you able to see this template and if yes, what content is being displayed?

    Many thanks.

Thanks for your response. The Index template shows the posts – but I can’t see this on the actual site. The Posts Page I have designated still shows the Home Page template and the Home Page I designated as my static home page shows no template. Here are images of my settings:

I then added a Front Page Template. That corrected the Editor mode Home view to show this: https://ibb.co/7R7pxz8

However, when I try to click on the News & Events (designated Posts Page) on the navigation bar, it just takes me to the same template (see the URL in the photo): https://ibb.co/0BqLpPd

    Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out, the screenshots provided don’t seem to be working or may have expired.

Are you able to resend those please? It may give me a clue as to what is happening there.

As an aside, have you thought about creating a free WordPress.com site, and checking the site demo?

    I hope this helps!

I’m having similar issues to what is described but more importantly, I cannot find a way to change the template my pages are using, its just not possible when you try to – see screenshot. the only options I have are to create a new template which I don’t want to do. Any ideas?

@stephenwrks, if you’re still having the issue, can you start your own topic per the forum guidelines?
