Hi,

Having an issue with the merchant ID not being saved on update.

Hi. I’ll respond here going forward. I just tested this on staging where I set the theme to Twenty Twenty-Three and it’s still not saving on update.

Hi,

Can you please temporarily enable the debug mode? In your Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway settings

Then try again to add your merchant ID.

Check if there are any error messages being generated in the error log under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available, please provide us the error message generated).

Thanks for trying @ihereira suggestion above, though it did not produce any error logs based on this screencast.

For us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce and Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway plugins are enabled, add the Merchant ID again and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

In the video you will see that I did the following:

1. Enabled Troubleshooting Mode
2. Only WooCommerce and Braintree are enabled
3. Default WP theme is set

Thank you for trying our suggestions above. It seems like this is a reproducible bug that the team is already aware of.

The problem seems to be affecting the latest version of the plugin, so as a temporary workaround, you can try downgrading to a previous release.

I can also confirm Merchant IDs not working with v3, so I guess downgrade is still the only option?

I too am having the “Add merchant account ID” issue on version 3.0.2. However, downgrading to 2.9.3 works.

I’ll go ahead and close this topic for now. Anyone else that is affected by this bug, please downgrade to 2.9.3 and keep an eye on the changelog when a next version is released.
