• Starting from WordPress version 6.4 some post preview issues appeared:

    • website users complain that preview on new post draft doesn’t show any content which is formed from the post meta fields
    • moreover pushing preview button on draft actually saves the draft
    • so the user who tries to edit post draft (post draft author) cannot use preview because doesn’t see any changes and makes changes to the original post draft by pushing Preview button, after closing and entering post edit mode again preview functionality works (original post draft was changed previously by using Preview) but until any further changes to post meta fields
      • from database side I see that after pushing preview button:
        – new post revision instance appears but has no post meta fields (this revision gains new meta fields when I leave post edit, enter it again and push preview button without making any changes)
    • original post draft is updated
    • issue with preview disappears in 6.3.2 and older WP versions
    • checked with default WP theme (twenty twenty one), with all plugins turned off as well

    Hi @kevinmrlw,
    – Try activating twenty twenty two/three/four theme with all plugins turned off.
    – Because with new WordPress 6.4 default installation 3 there are 3 default block supported theme, twenty twenty two, twenty twenty three, twenty twenty four.

    May be it helps! 🙂

This is a known issue in 6.4 and is being worked on.
