If I upload my original image as a progressive JPG, I would like for the WP-generated images (thumbnails) to retain that feature (looks better on slow(er) connections).
I realise, image optimisation plugins may choose one over the other depending on the resulting file size, but I think that call should be for the admin/author to make (at least in core).
