    Hello,

Will you be adding an option to clean the post and postmeta tables from WooCommerce data once the HPOS option is stable?

We have over 2.5M postmeta entries related to WooCommerce order/subscriptions/addresses that slow down a lot our website. The main purpose of the HPOS feature is to avoid that, but if there is no way to clean the data once the sync is done, it doesn’t help much.

If you don’t intend to add an option to clean the wc data from the post/postmeta tables, could you tell me if it’s safe to run DELETE queries on these tables for shop_order/shop_subscription posts?

    Thank you

  • I told you, they needed 10 years to make HPOS and now we will wait 10 more years to get it cleaned…

I just wish they would stop marking this thread as resolved since it is not, to better keep track of it. Have to mark it as not resolved every now and then.

This is for everyone who has been following this thread.

Apparently in 8.7 will be added

Just to update anyone visiting this issue, this has indeed been added to version 8.7 under WooCommerce > Status > Tools

Scroll down to the option “Clean up order data from legacy tables”

    Great to hear!

But I am facing an error so the tools stops working:

2024-04-02T02:15:49+00:00 Error No se pudieron limpiar los datos heredados del pedido 93102 durante el proceso por lotes. Error: 93102 no es un ID de pedido válido.

@luboslives THANK YOU SO MUCH ! But it seems not important enough for them to inform us officially ? Same as this option that they first said was not so important, but they finally rushed to make it… But at least they listen to users, already better than Google and other big companies monkeys…

    Hi @clitopwebsite,

This was included in the WooCommerce latest version changelog under line 75 of the same.

    Thanks.

Thank you, can someone tell me if a wocoomerce shop should run faster after cleaning old table ?

    Hi again @clitopwebsite,

Yes, cleaning old tables from your WooCommerce shop’s database can potentially improve its performance.

It helps reduce the size of your database and the time taken for your server to retrieve information.

However, the speed improvements will depend on several factors including your server speeds, the size of the old tables and the overall optimization of your website.

Please remember to back up your database before performing any cleanups to prevent any data loss.

    Cheers!
