• One of the shops I manage received an email out of the blue to call some number to have some tech team help install this plugin (not a scam/phishing attempt per se). The method and reviews for it are so bad, that I won’t install it. The focus just seems to push to install the “PayPal Credit”, aka BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) button on carts, to make more money for the PayPal mafia… That’s where the scam is…

PS: in case the stars are changed without my knowledge, this is a 1 star review, as 0 is not allowed…

    Hi there

Thank you for sharing your concerns.

I’d like to clarify some of the points you mentioned:

    1. The email you received was indeed from PayPal directly. PayPal is taking proactive steps to ensure merchants are informed about the latest and most secure payment solutions. The WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin is the official PayPal integration for WooCommerce and is designed to offer the latest features PayPal has to offer. PayPal’s trained experts are ready to assist you with migrating your payment solution, and our support team is happy to assist with any plugin-related questions.
    2. The “PayPal Credit” or “Buy Now, Pay Later” options are one of many features of this integration. It offers merchants and buyers more payment flexibility, but it’s entirely optional. Merchants can choose to enable or disable Pay Later features based on their preference.
    3. At its core, the plugin provides buyers with a consistent payment experience through the PayPal button on the Checkout page. Other features, including payment buttons on non-checkout pages, Pay Later (button/messaging), credit cards, and alternate payment methods, are additional options that can be customized based on the merchant’s needs.

We genuinely appreciate your feedback and aim to ensure every user feels confident and informed when choosing PayPal Payments. If you have further concerns or require any clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our official support channels: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-paypal-payments/

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
