Hi, I’ve been working on a site today, and all of a sudden I get a 403 permissions error when clicking ‘update’ or ‘preview changes’

At first I thought it must be a something internal to the site like some kind of corrupted permissions setting but the same problem is now happening on other sites I run – on different servers – and for different users (so it’s not just me).

This seems to be both sudden and widespread which leads me to believe it might be something others are experiencing. My best guess is it’s an issue with a plugin or the new wp version.

    All thoughts/help welcome

Hello. I also have the same issue when I am trying to make updates on my pages. Will this be solved by wordpress generally or do I need to do something specific on my end?

Hello, a 403 error also occurred when I created the product. What is the solution?

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. Hopefully, this will force the default theme to activate and rule out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
