From the fabrication of component parts to the consumer-ready goods we use at home, Made in
Chicago celebrates and encourages the wide variety of manufacturers that choose Chicago.
The Made in Chicago brand launched in January 2014 to focus on the local design, manufacture,
and market value chain. We want to ensure that what is designed here is also made here
with locally sourced component parts, and is accessible through both local and
global retail outlets.
Made in Chicago provides local industrial resources with an opportunity to show their spirit for manufacturing
through the “Buy Local” page. Manufacturers may utilize this platform to create additional visibility for their
brand, as well as their locally-made products from component parts to finished goods.
Who can get involved? Local manufacturers or companies with consumer-ready goods interested in the
Made in Chicago listing profile must primarily design and manufacture a physical product, and manufacture
one of more products within the City of Chicago or the surrounding industrial regions. Listing your company
is FREE and a great way to reach new customers.
Made in Chicago’s interactive network enables designers and manufacturers to connect through the
“Sourcing Assistance” platform to spur local product innovation and partnerships. Through the online tool
hosted by Britehub, as well as face-to-face industrial matchmaking events, Made in Chicago strives to be
the resource for successful business-to-business collaboration.
Made in Chicago is a joint initiative of the City of Chicago and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC), and powered
by a shared platform developed by the Urban Manufacturing Alliance (UMA) and Britehub. Primary funding to support the
launch of Made in Chicago has been proudly provided by Citi Community Development and local industrial retention partners.
